A Co Armagh teenage harpist who made it to the final of The Voice Kids has described it as the "best experience ever".

Niamh Noade (14) from Lislea made it to the last four of the ITV singing competition on Saturday night.

The teenager stunned the crowd with her singing and harp playing during her performance of 'People Help the People' in the final.

It came after she was part of singer Ronan Keating's team, which comprised of Belfast singer Jarlaith Mervyn, Danny Bretherton and Yazmin Asim, who all performed the Oasis hit 'Don't Look Back in Anger'.

But it was sisters Andrea and Shanice Nyandoro, dubbed the 'Wonder Twins' by coach will.i.am, who came out on top in the audience vote and won the competition.

Speaking after the final, Niamh told of how it had been an "amazing opportunity".

A Year 10 student of St Paul’s High School, Newry, she said in a video posted online: "I can't believe it's all over, The Voice Kids has been the best experience ever and I cannot believe I got to the final.

"Well done to Andrea and Shanice, you both were absolutely amazing.

"I just want to say thankyou to The Voice Kids for giving me this amazing opportunity as well as Ronan Keating for believing in me and to all those coaches at The Voice who taught me so much."

Niamh added her thanks to members of the public for the support she received throughout her journey on the ITV show.

"I am totally overwhelmed and it has been from all over the world," she said.

Niamh had made it through to the finals after impressing Keating with her rendition of Abba’s The Winner Takes It All in the blind auditions.

No stranger to performing, Niamh has also appeared on TeenStar UK, BBC Northern Ireland School Soloist of the Year and most recently made the final three in the search for an Irish Junior Eurovision Song Contest act.
