THREE men are due in court on Thursday following reports of threats to a resident and unlawful assembly in the Weaver’s Grange area of Newtownards.

Detectives have said it is likely to be linked to an ongoing feud between rival drugs gangs across Ards and North Down.

Police were informed around 8pm on April 6 that a large group of men had gathered at a house in the area.

It was then reported that threats were made to a male resident living inside the house during the incident.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Three men aged 48, 39 and 31 years old have now been arrested on suspicion of affray and unlawful assembly. The men are currently in police custody.

“Enquiries are continuing and this incident is being linked to the ongoing feud between rival drugs gangs across Ards and North Down."

All three men are set to appear in Newtownards Magistrates on Thursday.

Anyone with relevant information has been urged to call 101, quoting reference 1361 for April 7.

Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
