A road in Co Tyrone has reopened following a "serious" traffic collision involving a van and pedestrian.

The crash happened on the Garvallagh Road in Fintona on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the area shortly before 3pm.

The road was closed in  both directions at the junctions with the Aghafad Road and the Raneese Road into the evening, with motorists advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

It later reopened to traffic.

A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service said a rapid response paramedic and emergency crew were sent to the scene of the collision.

"Following assessment at the scene, no patient was taken to hospital," they said.
