A MAN threatened staff with a knife as he robbed a business in east Belfast on Christmas Eve.

Soon after 11.40pm on December 24, police received a report that a man armed with a knife had entered a business in the Beersbridge Road area.

He threatened two staff members before making off in the direction of the city centre with a sum of cash.

Although shaken by their ordeal, the staff members were otherwise uninjured.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the robbery.

The suspect is described as around 6 foot tall and of medium build with a Belfast accent.

He was wearing a navy blue coat with the hood up, a face mask and navy tracksuit bottoms.
