A MAN was beaten with golf clubs during a "savage attack" in Sion Mills this morning.
Three men broke into a property in Primrose Park in the Co Tyrone village and beat him for 15 minutes.
The attack was reported to police shortly after 9.15am.
The man suffered injuries to his face and head.
Police said they are trying to establish why the man was attacked.
"This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim in what appears to have been a savage attack," a spokesman said.
"We're working to establish what happened, who was involved and a motive and we appeal to anyone who was in the area (yesterday) morning, prior to or around 9am and saw anything suspicious to call us."
Police asked anyone who saw a grey Mercedes in the area, or captured its movements on their dash cam, to contact officers on 101.
