TWO actors from Northern Ireland feature in a new audio series bringing listeners on a tranquil journey through the beautiful landscapes and rich culture and heritage of the north.
Bronagh Waugh and Conleth Hill have given their voices to Soothing Stories from Northern Ireland, a four-part series from Tourism NI bringing terrain, mythical tales and stories to life.
Written by author and acclaimed travel writer Seth Linder, from his home in Rostrevor, the audio series allows listeners to stride through the Narnia inspired Mourne Mountains, on to Armagh’s blossoming orchards or transported to the Fermanagh Lakelands and the magnificent Sperrin Mountains.
There's also the walled city of Derry to visit, the Causeway coastal route, Belfast city and the Ards Peninsula.
Game of Thrones star Hill, who hails from Ballycastle, Co Antrim, said: "I was enthralled by the beautiful stories from my homeplace and it has been a great privilege to tell them.
"They brought back some nostalgic memories."
Waugh, who is originally from Coleraine and has starred in The Fall, Unforgotten and Derry Girls, said it had been a "real joy" to be part of the Soothing Stories.
" I hope listeners can really relax, transport themselves in their mind to these landscapes and embrace the giant spirit of Northern Ireland, particularly at a time when our travel is limited," she said.
Naomi Waite from Tourism NI said they hoped the Soothing Stories would remind people of the beauty and "unique heritage and experiences here".
