THE brother of a man killed during a hit-and-run in south Armagh has urged anyone with information to come forward.

Michael Kirk was found on Blaney Road outside Crossmaglen just after 5am on Sunday August 23.

The father-of two had suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is the third tragedy for his family who have already lost his two brothers to illness.

A 35-year-old man later handed himself in after appeals from the PSNI and politicians and was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Now Mr Kirk's brother Gerard has called on anyone with information to approach his family or their solicitor, Gavin Booth of Phoenix Law.

He said it is vital to establish what happened.

"It's very important to get answers or some wee bit of closure," he said.

In particular Mr Kirk said his brother's phone has yet to be located and the family are keen to know what happened to it.

Mr Kirk is known to have had the phone in his possession a short time before he died.

They are also keen for anyone who saw Mr Kirk between 3.30am-4.30am on the night he died to get in touch.

Mr Kirk said the loss of his brother has hit his family hard.

"It has had a big impact," he said.

"He has two young boys left behind, at 17 and seven.

"We are trying to support each other and keep things going."

Mr Booth also urged anyone with information to contact him.

"We would appeal for anyone with information to come forward to speak to us to help the family find out what happened to Michael Kirk," he said.
