Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Co Antrim last week yesterday arrested two women.

The pair, aged 46 and 29, were arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Steven Peck.

The 33-year-old, who was from Ballymoney, was found on Sunday January 3 on a pathway close to football pitches at the back of the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre on the Garryduff Road in the town.

Police said the victim had been badly beaten and had sustained a head injury.

Mr Peck died at the Royal Victoria Hospital on Saturday, January 9.

On Friday, three men aged 54, 28 and 24, had appeared via video-link at Coleraine Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder in relation to the attack.

Yesterday, police investigating Mr Peck's murder arrested two women aged 46 and 29 in the Dervock and Ballymoney areas.

The 46-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders and the 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
