A car convoy in support of the family of Belfast schoolboy Noah Donohoe is to take place in the city tonight.

Details of the gathering were posted on the MyNoah Donohoe Facebook page, which was set up following the death of the schoolboy in the summer.

The 14-year-old, a pupil at St Malachy's College, went missing during a bike trip from his home in the south of the city on June 21.

His body was found in a north Belfast storm drain six days later following a massive search operation.

A post-mortem examination established that he died as a result of drowning.

The teenager's family have since vowed to fight for justice to find out what exactly happened the young man.

Those organising the car convoy have asked supporters to join the family "in a show of support for our ongoing fight for the truth".

Organisers have asked those taking part to "remain in their cars at this time and in their family bubbles".

The convoy will travel along Black's Road, Stewartstown Road, Andersonstown Road and Falls Road before progressing through north Belfast and into the city centre.

It will then continue along the Lisburn Road, Malone Road, through Stranmillis, along the Ormeau Road and Upper Knockbreda Road before travelling towards the Upper Newtownards Road where a blue ribbon will be tied to the gates of Stormont.

Organisers said those taking part were free to "tie blue ribbons to your cars or anything you feel shows your support to Noah. However, your presence will always be enough support for us.

"Any of Noahs Army unable to meet and join the 'Car Convoy' please come out and greet us as we pass through your areas".
