COMMUNITIES minister Carál Ní Chuilín has announced that 421 projects from the voluntary and community sector have benefited from £1.36m in grants from her department.
The Small Capital Grants Programme, delivered by Co-operation Ireland, assists organisations to purchase equipment for activities in their local communities.
Awards of up to £5,000 can be used for items such as IT, sporting and catering equipment or materials to support arts and cultural activities.
Successful applications this year included many projects seeking help to allow normal business to continue with social distancing in the open air.
