The Republic's agriculture minister Barry Cowan was sacked last night.
The Fianna Fáil TD has been at the centre of controversy over a drink-driving ban he received four years ago.
However, he denied allegations he attempted to evade gardai on the night he was found to be drink-driving in September 2016.
