Hairdressers, nail bars and barbers can reopen on July 6, Arlene Foster has confirmed.

The first minister said a number of restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic were being eased as the reproduction (R) rate of the virus is between 0.6 and 0.9.

"The virus continues to be controlled and the number of new cases remains small," she added.

Ms Foster also confirmed that places of workship can resume church services on June 29.

She confirmed that the Department of Health has advised that people who have been sheilding can stop on July 31.

The department today recorded no further deaths of people who have tested positive for coronavirus. One person has tested positive for the virus . The death toll stands at 543. Read more
