A man has been treated in hospital after being attacked by a gang in Co Derry.
Police say up to seven armed and masked men forced their way into a house at Ashgrove Park in Magherafelt at around 9.20pm last night.
The man was then assaulted with hammers and knives.
He was later taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not life threatening.
The men left the area in a shiny, dark coloured BMW after the attack.
Sinn Féin councillor Darren Totten said: “I condemn this reckless attack in a well settled community.
“Anybody with information could bring it forward to either myself or relevant authorities.”
