THE Church of Ireland has confirmed Archdeacon George Davison as the Bishop-designate of the Diocese of Connor.
The archdeacon was elected to the role on February 17. His election was confirmed by the church's House of Bishops at its meeting in Dublin yesterday.
He succeeds Bishop Alan Abernethy who retired at the end of December.
A church spokesman said the new bishop will be consecrated "in due course".
