SEARCHES continued yesterday for a missing mother-of-four from Co Derry.

Helena McElhennon (42), from Draperstown, was last seen in her car at around 10.30am on Sunday.

The Black Mitsubishi Warrior was later found in a lay-by close to the Foyle Bridge in Derry's Cityside.

The latest search took place in the St Columb's Park area of the Waterside yesterday afternoon.

Searches have been carried out by police and volunteers from Foyle Search and Rescue and Search Team North West.

Foyle Search and Rescue said on Wednesday its volunteers used a drone to scour the wider area.

Police have appealed to anyone who was in the Foyle Bridge area on Sunday morning and who may have dash cam footage to come forward.

Search Team North West asked people to check their outhouses or sheds and report any possible sighting to police.

"Let's get Helena home safely to her loving family," a spokesman said.

Ms McElhennon is described as being 5ft 4in of medium build, with short, dark hair.

When last seen she was wearing a maroon cardigan or long, brown dress.
