The PSNI has launched an investigation after the sudden death of a Co Tyrone man.

Wayne Bell died in hospital on Saturday after earlier taking ill at a house in Moygashel, near Dungannon.

Police last night said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

His is the latest in a spate of sudden deaths in the Mid Ulster area in recent months.

Warm tributes were paid to the father-of-one on Facebook last night.

Mark Kerr said: “True gentleman, will be sadly missed - hard to believe this has happened too such a young lad."

Dungannon Kick Boxing Club offered its condolences on Facebook.

“Wayne was an absolute gentleman, great fighter and a true friend to all and will be sadly missed," it said.

“We would like to pass on our sincere condolences."

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said it received a call just before 5pm last Thursday “following reports that a male had taken unwell at an address in the Moygashel area”.

“NIAS despatched two Emergency Ambulance crews to the incident,” he said.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was transported to Craigavon Area Hospital.”

His funeral service will take place at St Elizabeth’s Parish Church, Moygashel, at 2pm with interment afterwards in Cottagequin Cemetery, Dungannon.

SDLP councillor Denise Mullen last night offered her sympathies to his family.

There has been a spate of sudden deaths involving young people in the Mid Ulster area in recent months.

Last week Aine Campbell passed away at a house in Cookstown.

In June Liam Campbell, who is no relation, also died at the same property in the Coolnafranky area.

A day after Liam Campbell’s death another man Gary McCabe (30) died at a house in Dungannon.

Both men are believed to have known each other.

In May this year Mark Hay (34) died at a house in Moneymore, Co Derry.

In October 2016, Amy Reid, who was from Coolnafranky Park in Cookstown, is believed to have died after attending a party at a flat in Coagh, Co Tyrone.
