A SHOP owner in west Belfast has spoken of his despair after his business was burgled for the third time in two years.

The Teamwear Ireland sports showroom at Musgrave Business Centre on Stockmans Way was targeted overnight on Thursday.

Owner John Anderson said he estimated the burglars took around 300 garments, worth up to £10,000.

The business sells sportswear, including football kits, to sporting clubs across Ireland.

"This is the third time in the last two years," he said. "We were burgled last December and the April before that.

"It's almost certainly the same people behind it. The first two times they used a car to ram the doors so we put up bollards. This time they used an angle-grinder to cut through the gates and smashed a window. They gathered the most expensive samples we have."

Mr Anderson said the showroom mainly sells the Nike and Joma brands.

"They targeted the Nike first this time," he said.

"We have a big customer base in west Belfast and we do loads down south and across Northern Ireland. We have very good customers who have sent us lots of messages. It's just very frustrating."

Mr Anderson appealed to anyone with information about the burglary to contact police.
