ARDS football club has clinched promotion to the Irish Premiership a week after one of its star players suffered a fractured skull in an attack outside a Belfast nightclub.
Ards midfielder Gary Warwick was still being treated in the Royal Victoria Hospital on Sunday following the attack outside outside Thompson’s Garage early on Sunday April 24.
A spokeswoman for the Belfast Trust said Mr Warwick remained in a stable condition on Sunday night.
The 25-year-old, from the Cliftonville Drive area of north Belfast, was taken to hospital with a fractured skull and swelling on the brain after the assault.
Ards claimed the Championship 1 title to gain promotion to the Premiership after a 3-0 win against Loughgall on Saturday.
