Funerals are to take place this week for two people killed in a crash outside the Crumlin area in Co Antrim.

Samuel Stewart, who was 37, and Leah Ferguson, who was in her early 20s, died in a three-car collision at Ballyhill Road last Thursday evening.

Mr Stewart, a father-of-three and the driver of a grey Audi A6, died at the scene, along with Ms Ferguson, who was a passenger in a silver Volkswagen Golf.

Another man was taken to hospital following the crash, which also involved a black Citroen Volcane.

Police are appealing for information as they investigate the collision, and have appealed for witnesses and those with dash-cam footage to contact them.

A death notice for Mr Stewart, who was from Cambrai Street in Belfast’s Shankill area described him as the “beloved son of Samuel and Margaret, devoted father of Laurice, Dakota and Jay and cherished brother of Jolene, Ian and Neil”.

It added: “Our precious Son, You were taken from us too soon, our world has fell apart, it will never be the same without you. How can we go on living without you, but hopefully it won’t be long until we are together again. We love you son, forever, your broken hearted Mum and Dad.”

A funeral service will be held at his parents home on Thursday in the Shankill area’s Hopewell Crescent and afterwards at Roselawn Cemetery.
