The famous White Star Line vessel was built in Belfast at the Harland and Wolff shipyard before its fateful maiden voyage to New York in 1912.

On April 15 of that year, the Titanic foundered after colliding with an iceberg in the mid-Atlantic, with the loss of 1,512 people.

The remembrance service is held each year at the memorial to mark the anniversary of the sinking, and is organised by the Belfast Titanic Society.
