William Dunlop's partner gives birth to baby daughter

THE PARTNER of late road racer William Dunlop has given birth to the couple's second daughter.

Janine Brolly made the announcement on Facebook, prompting scores of fans to send their best wishes.

The baby was born on Saturday afternoon but has not yet been named. The new addition is a younger sister to two-year-old Ella.

Ms Brolly's long-term partner William was killed in July during a practice session at the Skerries 100 road races in Co Dublin.

The son of the late road racing star Robert Dunlop and nephew of Joey, William was making his return to the sport after pulling out of this year's Isle of Man TT to be with his partner during her pregnancy.

The Facebook post said: "We welcomed our second little girl into the world on Saturday afternoon.

"She has the most amazing big sister and there is no question that Daddy would have been besotted. Name still to be decided but we are just all settling into life together at home."

Ms Brolly said she was grateful to her two daughters, who she said "are keeping my heart beating".

Countless fans of the the late road racer sent their best wishes.

One well-wisher said: "I may have started crying a little seeing the news of #WilliamDunlop’s other half giving birth on Saturday to a healthy little girl. I am sure William is looking down with a smile on his face & will be the happiest guardian angel".

Another said: "Big Congratulations to Janine on the birth of another little girl on Saturday."
