A CO Tyrone window cleaner caught with 60 Minion-shaped ecstasy tablets has avoided jail but warned that "one lapse" will see him being sent to prison.
Samuel McCain, from Edinburgh Park in Omagh, was caught in the smoking area of Shine Nightclub just after midnight on July 31 last year.
Belfast Crown Court heard 23-year old McClain and a group of friends had travelled from Omagh to the Belfast nightclub, and that as he had been at Shine before, he was tasked to source the drugs for his group.
As he stood with a man and a woman in the smoking area of the club at Queen's Students Union, he was approached by security staff who saw a bag being dropped on the ground.
During a search of the area, a bag containing 60 ecstasy tablets in the shape of Minion cartoon characters was found.
Police were called and McCain was taken to Musgrave Street police station. When asked about the contents of the bag, McCain said he knew they were ecstasy tablets.
He subsequently admitted a charge of possessing the Class A drug with intent to supply.
A prosecutor told Judge Patricia Smyth that McCain was not on the police radar. He also said the Crown accepted he was getting the tablets to supply to a small circle of friends.
A barrister acting on McCain's behalf said his client was from a good background, and that McCain's offending had brought "shame and hurt" to his family.
Judge Smyth handed McCain an enhanced combination order consisting of two years probation coupled with 100 hours community service but warned that any "lapses" would see him sent to jail.
