Derry city football captain Ryan McBride died suddenly this week and was buried on the same day as Mr McGuinness, plunging the city into mourning.

There have been numerous tributes paid to the 27-year-old, including one from Ireland international James McClean who wore the number five shirt for Ireland's game with Wales at the Aviva on Friday in memory of the popular young player.

He was found dead at home last Sunday, just 24 hours after he led his side in a 4-0 League of Ireland win over Drogheda United.

The special program stated; "In recent days our city and county has lost three very proud Derry men. Along with their family and friends they are in our thoughts today".
