A YOUNG civil servant from Co Armagh has developed a download app - which he hopes may help answer a few prayers.
Jonathan Leathem, from Lurgan, who studied a Masters Degree in Software Development at Queen's University, has created a new app called Find A Saint.
Available to download from the Google Play store for 69p, it allows users to search for the patron saint of any ailment, illness, problem or danger.
Users can scroll through the application to find the appropriate saint and light a candle for them for their own particular intention.
For example, a user who has lost something could light a candle for St Anthony, the saint of lost things.
The 23 year-old, who plays Gaelic football for St Michael's GAC in Magheralin, started developing the app last year.
"I started on it last January but it was in my spare time," he said.
"I completed it last week and it’s on sale at the Google Play Store. It’s only 69p.
"...I did other apps as part of a team but this is first on my own and it took quite a long time.
"I really wanted to get it finished and up in the app store and now it feels like an achievement".
Jonathan said there is a wide variety of saints available on the app including the saint to call on if you're ever caught up in a pirate attack - St Albinus.
"There's a saint for so many things," he said.
The findasaint app can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
