Hope Street renewed for a third series of Co Down-shot coastal cosy crime

THE BBC have confirmed that its popular daytime police serial Hope Street will be returning for a third series.

With the second series of the Co Down-shot ‘cosy crime’ series currently airing on Friday afternoons at 1.45pm on BBC One, filming for the next run of the joint production between BBC Northern Ireland, BBC Daytime, BritBox International and Long Story TV is due to begin later this month - meaning fans can look forward to enjoying yet more gentle drama and intrigue in the fictional seaside town of Port Devine.

It’s also been confirmed that cast members Ciarán McMenamin, Bríd Brennan, Des McAleer, Kerri Quinn, Niall Wright, Aaron McCusker, Niamh McGrady, Rachel Tucker, Sade Malone, Louis McCartney and Ellie Lavery will all be returning for the third series, with new additions still to be announced.

Co-creator and producer Paul Marquess from Long Story TV says: “We are so excited to be making our third trip to beautiful Port Devine - and we’re delighted that BBC Northern Ireland, BBC Daytime and BritBox International have ordered more episodes this time round.

“We’ve been so lucky to work with a hugely talented cast, writers, directors and crew, and the continuing popularity of Hope Street is a testament to all their hard work.”
