Christmas Reflection: A time for presents

A few years ago, I was given a telescope and I've enjoyed many hours viewing the skies at night and wondering at the universe.

New discoveries about our universe emerge every day. We now have telescopes in space, which enable us to see farther than ever before into God's creation, sending back information and wonderful photographs from deep space.

Yet with all this technology we still haven't been able to chart the boundaries of creation. The idea of a universe billions of light years in depth is too much for us to understand.

So, if we have difficulty comprehending that, how can we comprehend the One who created it?

Christmas provides the answer. The mystery of this magnificent universe has its solution in the birth in Bethlehem.

Jesus Christ came to let us know who God is and what He is like. In Jesus Christ we see that God is approachable, and knowable by creatures like us.

In Jesus, we have the perfect reflection of God.

I hope you appreciate God's gift to us this year.
