A US health plan technology firm has said its new software engineering centre in Belfast will create another eight jobs over the next three years.

HighRoads has already recruited 12 staff since January for its new Northern Ireland offices at Scottish Provident Building in the city centre.

The company has developed P2 Advance, a data management platform for health plan products.

The Massachusetts-based business has been offered £99,000 by Invest NI for its Belfast move.

Invest NI’s head of international investment, Derek Andrews said the 20 jobs will eventually contribute £1.18m in wages for the economy.

“On the basis of available talent and our cost-effective business environment, HighRoads has chosen Northern Ireland as the location for this all-important team, which will support the development of new initiatives and products.”

HighRoads has said it anticipates substantial growth on the back of the P2 Advance product.

The firm’s senior vice president of engineering, Ajay Bhandari, said: “P2 Advance supports the entire continuum of healthcare plan creation and is an innovative solution that helps our clients produce customisable, flexible and scalable health plans that retain customers, drive new revenue streams and sustain profitable pricing.

“The market opportunity for our product is substantial and we need to expand our software capability and capacity to enable us to take advantage of that. The Belfast technology team will be critical to the development of our product offerings and we are very much looking forward to building and benefitting from the team.”
