DONUT and cafe chain Tim Hortons will open its new West Belfast drive-thru restaurant before Christmas.

The Canadian chain has confirmed an opening date of December 12 for its site at The Kennedy Centre where it has employed 50 staff.

The launch will mark the eleventh Tim Hortons in Northern Ireland.

The first 100 customers on open day will receive a free breakfast meal while a year's worth of drinks will be given to the first drive-thru customer, a prize worth £3,100.

Doors will open at 7am after which the restaurant will open from 6am till midnight seven days a week.

The West Belfast store will feature the brand's regular menu of donuts including Timbits, breakfasts and sandwiches as well as a range of evening meal options and drinks.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Commercial Officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK said since the brand opened its first outlet here on Fountain Street, Belfast in 2018 there has been demand for more outlets.

He said: “We have some incredible prizes lined up to giveaway at the opening and we cannot wait to celebrate our launch with both our new and loyal customers.”

Tim Hortons recently announced that it has its eyes set on Newtownards, with a drive-thru restaurant opening in Castlebawn Retail Park. Once the date of opening is announced in the next few months, this will bring the total Tim Hortons restaurants in Belfast alone to four.
