THOUSANDS of summer jobs are on offer as firms continue to struggle to fill vacancies, according to new research.
Jobs site Adzuna said employers are looking to seasonal workers to plug employment gaps, with "enticing" hourly rates of pay.
Summer jobs being advertised include beach cleaner at pay rates ranging from £9.50 to £18.70 an hour, ice cream operative at £9.50 to £14 an hour, lifeguard at £9.90 to £11.86 per hour, and jobs at festivals paying £11-£14 per hour.
Thousands of jobs at theme parks are also being advertised, with starting pay of £9.50 an hour.
Paul Lewis, chief customer officer at Adzuna, said: "This year's picnic of seasonal job options includes openings for fruit pickers, summer camp teachers, and beach cleaners.
"Employers up and down the UK have been struggling to fill open positions and summer represents an opportunity to get ahead and plug employment gaps with temporary workers.
"As well as the obvious financial boost, for jobseekers starting out or students on their summer holidays, summer can be a great opportunity to test out different sectors and find what works for them.
"It's also a chance to pick up new skills, hone work ethic, and grab some experiences to bolster their CVs and discuss at future job interviews.
"A short-term summer job can ultimately lead to a longer-term financial boost by helping jobseekers find and secure the right jobs for them, as well as topping up holiday funds."
