A DEVELOPER has launched a bid to construct more than 100 apartments on a waste ground close to the Ravenhill Road in Belfast.

DLL Properties has notified Belfast Council of its plans for the three-acre site at Lismore Street and London Road.

Although surrounded by residential properties, the site, which is close to Ormeau Park, has been used in recent years for staging a loyalist bonfire on the Eleventh Night.

A proposal of application notice (PAN) submitted to Belfast City Council has revealed the plans include 116 units, comprising one, two and three bedroom apartments.

A PAN is typically the first stage in major planning applications, with developers engaging with political representatives and consulting the public before progressing to a full application.

The application from DLL Properties Ltd includes “associated private and communal amenity space and parking provision”.

A website detailing the plans is due to go live next month, with an online public engagement also scheduled for October.
