BELFAST-based WorkPal, which has created, sells and installs a powerful workforce management tool to businesses around the world, is celebrating its largest international contract win in its 10-year history.

It has taken on a three-year £100,000 deal to supply power generation solutions provider Edina with its highly acclaimed WorkPal software, which will see it used to consolidate the workflows of staff across the company’s global operations.

This includes over 100 service technicians and office administrators across Edina sites in the UK, Ireland, India and Australia.

Ian Megahey, sales director at WorkPal, which is part of Barclay Communications. said: “We're delighted to work with Edina to solve any issues it has with workforce management so it can focus on what it does best, being a leading power generation specialist and EPC solutions provider for the engineering, installation and after-care support for gas-fired distributed power plants and standby mission-critical generation.

“It’s timely that this, our largest international contract yet, was confirmed as we begin a rebrand of WorkPal which turns 10 this year.

“We have grown from a small team of five to operating in Dublin, Glasgow, New Jersey and our Belfast HQ. We now employ 25 people across the business, which we expect to grow even more in the next few years. We are also now looking at a new office location in London, where some of our biggest clients are located.”

Stephen Nullis, group chief engineer at Edina, added: “As we entered the first lockdown we identified the need for a software solution to manage our service technicians, a platform that encompassed job and asset management that allowed us to go completely paperless.

“Having evaluated a number of options we chose WorkPal as our dedicated supplier as the system ticked every box for us and more. We are excited to partner with WorkPal and look forward to a successful relationship as we continue to grow the Edina Service business.”

As part of its10-year anniversary celebrations, WorkPal has invested £1m into its operations which will see it double its workforce over the next two years.

The jobs will span software development, consultancy and technical support roles that will allow a larger team to reach even more clients locally, nationally and internationally.

And to complement the recruitment drive, WorkPal has injected £250,000 into a marketing campaign that will strategically target new customers and expose the new way businesses can work and communicate effectively when working remotely.
