THE doors have opened on Belfast’s newest hotel offering - the 237-room Maldron Hotel Belfast City

The four-star, 11-storey hotel on Brunswick Street has created 110 new jobs and, as parent-group Dalata’s first new-build in almost a decade, represents a £24 million investment for the company.

And demand has been extremely strong - so much so that it will operate at full capacity as soon as this Friday night.

It is the £300m-turnover group’s fourth hotel in Northern Ireland in a portfolio which includes hotel at Belfast International Airport, Derry and Belfast's Ormeau Avenue.

General manager Mike Gatt said: “Months of hard work have finally come to fruition. We have something really special to offer at a hotel which has the benefits of a city centre location, four-star comfort, state-of-the-art technology, high levels of service and the best quality food and drink .

"Maldron Belfast City has been built with the business and leisure communities at the forefront of our minds, and we're confident we can offer an unrivalled level of service to those both visiting the city to work, and those who call Belfast their base – as well as families and couples visiting the city to enjoy its many attractions and leisure offerings.”

More ventures are in the pipeline for Dalata Group with three new hotels comprising nearly 500 rooms due to open this year in Dublin and Cork, while in England, Maldron Hotel Newcastle, comprising 264 rooms, will open in early 2019.
