THE Quays Shopping Centre, Newry has announced two new international retail brands as tenants, creating 30 jobs.
Global footwear brand, Skechers and Scandinavian homeware and interiors retailer Søstrene Grene are new entrants to the market in Newry and will open in the Quays as part of planned line-up of tenants due to open at the centre.
Skechers’ store in Newry will be its third in Northern Ireland, having already opened in Belfast and Craigavon, while Søstrene Grene will open its second shop in the north following the success of its first store in Belfast city centre, which opened in September 2016 on Ann St.
Colin Mathewson, senior director, CBRE said:
“As the retail sector in Northern Ireland continues to perform well with the continued benefit of the Sterling/Euro exchange rate, the opening of Skechers and Søstrene Grene are fantastic additions for The Quays.”
A further £20 million expansion is planned at The Quays adding 9,300 sq m fifth phase to the centre, creating in the region of 300 jobs.
