Saw Doctors set for Belfast return

THE Saw Doctors have announced their first Belfast show in six years for this November.

Following a summer of comeback dates, including sold-out gigs at the MGM Music Hall in Boston and the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, plus a headlining appearance on the Acoustic Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, the band have today confirmed a return to Belfast on Friday November 3 at The Waterfront Hall.

The Belfast gig will follow a trio of already sold-out dates at Dublin's Olympia Theatre.

Discovered by Mike Scott of The Waterboys on a stormy Tuesday night in Galway city in the late 1980s, The Saw Doctors enjoyed a six-week stint with The Waterboys on the Fisherman’s Blues tour in 1989 and scored a surprise Irish chart-topper with their song I Useta Lover in 1990 - still the biggest selling Irish single ever.

Tickets for the Waterfront Hall go on sale on Friday August 18 at 10am via waterfront.co.uk.
