SNOOKERSTAR DJ Steve 'yes, that Steve Davis' Davis is at The Black Box tonight to play an eclectic selection of music with a little help from his like-minded mate Kavus Torabi.

Over the past decade, this odd couple – Davis a six time snooker World Champion, Korabi a musician who plays with Gong, The Cardiacs and his own band Knifeworld – have been exploring the weirder side of rock, electronic and dance music on their weekly radio programme The Interesting Alternative Show on Brentwood's Phoenix FM (regularly archived on Mixcloud.com).

Last year marked the end of an era when Davis retired from professional snooker after 38 years: however, 2016 was also the beginning of an interesting (sorry) new chapter for the lifelong music nut as he and Korabi began taking their favourite dancefloor-friendly sounds on the road for hugely well-received sets at the likes of the Bloc and Glastonbury festivals.

Now the pair are making their Belfast debut courtesy of the Out To Lunch Festival, at which you can expect to hear "everything from Black Sabbath and The Beatles to Autechre and Battles" – with the exception of Snooker Loopy and The Romford Rap, obviously.
