"So here we stand at the gates of hell" will be as apt an opening line as you're likely to hear in the event that The Donald has successfully conned the Americans into electing him, but The New Paranoia's slinky piano-based number has multiple modern mistrust-based maladies in its brooding, vibe-laden sights.
Indeed, as Wright observes "it's just a matter of time 'til we crawl back to the slime."
However, hopefully our demise won't be so imminent that we don't get to hear the next VCV album, which is coming out next year, along with the north coast music man's first book and a documentary on 'the spirit of Joe Strummer' shot in Granada.
