THE Strypes are set to headline this year's Sunflowerfest at Tubby's Farm in Hillsborough.

The four-piece rock band from Co Cavan are among 150 acts lined up to perform at the festival, which takes place from August 5-7.

Signed to a record label following a phone call from Elton John, the young band will play the main stage as part of their European tour to promote their 2015 Irish chart-topping album Little Victories.

Le Galaxie, King Kong Company and Emerald Armada are also among the confirmed acts that include live music, DJs, comedy, poetry and theatre.

This year's festival, which is celebrating its seventh birthday, will see performances take place across six stages, including the new electronic stage 'ElectroMoot'.

Other attractions include live art and sculpture, a range of talks and workshops, a silent disco and the 'Bliss' well-being area.

And to coincide with the Northern Ireland Year of Food and Drink, local chefs will be hosting cooking demonstrations and workshops throughout the weekend.

Organisers hope the variety of entertainment on offer will help deliver the best Sunflowerfest experience so far.
