AFTER receiving rave reviews at film festivals last year, excellent Bafta-nominated post apocalyptic thriller The Survivalist is finally getting a general cinema release next month.
Starring Belfast actor Martin McCann and largely shot in the wilds of Ballymoney, Derry-born writer director Stephen Fingleton has received a Bafta nod in the 'outstanding debut' category for his uncompromisingly gritty and superbly tense first feature film set in a 'post collapse' world in which no one can be trusted.
To celebrate The Survivalist's release and award nomination, QFT Belfast are holding a week of exclusive preview screenings, starting with three special Q&A-enhanced events next weekend.
On Friday February 5, Stephen Fingleton and Martin McCann will be on hand for a post-screening discussion, while additional shows on Saturday February 6 and Sunday February 7 will feature Q&As with Fingleton and key cast and crew members.
