NEXT week, Queen's Film Theatre in Belfast will bring a movie classic back to the big screen courtesy of Cinemagic Young Programmers and QFT Takeover – a collective of youngsters aged 16 to 24 who are passionate about creating unmissable events based around your favourite films.
Joseph L Mankiewicz's All About Eve (1950) tells the story of Margo Channing (Bette Davis), a revered leading actor who takes a shine to a bashful young fan, Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter). Her admirer becomes Margo's assistant, confidant and understudy – before eventually revealing her true colours.
A film about complex and ambitious women obsessed with fame and success, its themes mirror the current 'selfie generation's' anxieties of today.
Patrons can enjoy a pre-show reception at QFT’s licenced bar, which will be channelling glamourous 1950s vibes (minus the fag fug) for the occasion from 5.30pm.
