DERRY mezzo-soprano Doreen Curran and Belfast-born soprano Aoife Miskelly star in next month’s Irish première and Handel’s Radamisto.

Wayne Jordan, a former associate director at Dublin’s Abbey Theatre makes his opera debut in directing Radamisto, which is presented by Northern Ireland Opera, in association with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

Sung in English, Radamisto tells the story about the futile nature of power; about political prisoners, asylum seekers, broken-hearted wives and grieving lovers, set alongside some of Handel’s most inspired and memorable music.

Following performances in Limerick, Cork, and Dublin, Radamisto finishes its all-Ireland tour at Belfast’s Grand Opera House on Sunday May 14. See Niopera.com
