There are TV dramas that make you anxious, as you feel for the characters, while others make you angry, as an unfolding injustice takes over the lives of the innocent.
Based on true-life events, ITV’s Mr Bates vs The Post Office was one such example, as it told the story of innocent people who had fallen victim to a faulty Post Office software system. Amazingly, the reaction to the drama forced the UK government to finally act.
Injustice, wars and rumours of war, inequality between rich and poor, the power of the algorithm, in these things and more, we see a world getting darker – yet I am increasingly confident of the confidence that we can have in Jesus and his amazing story.
Some of the best dramas are those based on true-life events. The Easter story, one of condemnation, injustice, execution, and resurrection, is not just powerful and gripping.
This documented drama has resonated down the centuries and it will forever remain the ultimate story of hope that we can have complete and total confidence in. Do you?
