Co Tyrone specialist joinery manufacturer Woodmarque has acquired a business in Bristol.

The door-set and joinery firm, based near Dungannon, has bought Doorlining.com Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1977 by Brian Quinn, Woodmarque manufactures specialist joinery, fire door-sets and contract furniture.

The family-owned company supplies contractors and developers working on residential developments, as well as office and hospitality fit-outs.

Managing director, Ronan Quinn, said the Bristol firm has been a long-standing part of the company’s supply chain.

He said the move will bring a host of strategic benefits.

“As well as giving us an additional 30,000 sq ft of manufacturing space in Bristol with 20 staff, the purchase will give us a key strategic presence just two hours from London, where our biggest market is located,” he said.

“There will also be considerable benefits for our carbon footprint and in terms of our overall efficiency.”

Established in January 2003, Doorlining.com Ltd manufactures made to measure door linings, frames, screens and door-sets.

The acquisition by Woodmarque is the latest step in the Tyrone firm’s ongoing expansion plans.

Its factory, located just off the A4 dual carriageway, has expanded from 50,000 sq ft to 130,000 sq ft since 2019.

The company has also doubled its workforce and increased its turnover six-fold in the past decade, investing £3.5 million in equipment, people and its own training academy.
