The 22-year-old from Cork was chasing a first-ever appearance at the Crucible when the final stages begin on Saturday but after winning the first frame of the second session to level at 4-4, he lost the next six in a row as breaks of 60, 70 and 64 booked Selt a place in tomorrow’s final qualifying round against Joe O’Connor.
