McFadden can be magic says McCall

MOTHERWELL boss Stuart McCall hopes a piece of magic from James McFadden can help boost their chances of progression in the Europa League at the expense of Kuban Krasnodar. The Steelmen play host to the Russian outfit in the first leg of the third qualifying round tonight and McCall believes he has quality throughout his team to cope with the threat of their visitors.

But the Well boss knows former Everton and Birmingham forward McFadden - who re-signed for the club earlier this month - is the one player capable of producing something extra special on the big stage.

McCall said: "He can be very important. He is probably the one out of the team that we are looking to do a bit of magic. "He is still just getting up to match sharpness, and there is still a bit of a way for him to go, but he's a match-winner, there is no doubt.
