Halfway pointin ards series

TONIGHT'S Ards race marks the halfway point in the Pure Running half Marathon Series with a clear picture emerging in most of the overall age categories.

It also marks the lead-in to the conclusion in which all competitors must complete three more races in order to be eligible for the overall awards.

Roisin hughes is in front in the Female Open category while Julie Balmer, with the fastest times of any of the ladies, leads the F35 and Diane Watson holds a clear advantage in the F40.

Penny Lindsay (F45) and Mary Makin (F55) are also well clear in their age groups but its closer in the F50 where Claire Forth and Maria McCarter are only 94 seconds apart.

In the men's categories, Gary O'Hanlon (above) leads the men over 35 and has the best overall aggregate time. nigel Grier (F50), Greg McClure (F55) and Sam hogg (F60) all have good leads in their age groups.

It is a lot closer elsewhere, with only 95 seconds separating the top three men in the Male Open where David Proctor currently holds the advantage.

Mark Walker (M40) and Brian Johnston (M45) lead their respective age groups.
