Shots were fired at a house in Derry last night in what police have described as a "brazen and reckless attack".

Police said they received a report shortly before 10.40pm that gunshots had been heard in Rosskeen Park and two masked men were seen fleeing the area.

Damage to the front and inner doors of a house was consistent with shotgun strikes, the PSNI said. No injuries were reported.

Detectives from Strand Road Criminal Investigation Branch are requesting that any eyewitnesses or anyone with video of the shooting contact them.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Ballentine said it was a "brazen and reckless attack" carried out in a residential area.

"As we continue with enquiries to establish exactly what happened, a motive and who is responsible, we appeal to anyone with information that could assist us, in particular CCTV or doorbell camera footage, we would urge you to get in touch with us."
