POLICE investigating a shop robbery in Carryduff in which staff were ordered at knifepoint to hand over cash have charged a 29-year-old man.

The premises at Saintfield Road was targeted on Friday afternoon, and police later arrested a 29-year-old man.

The man has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.



He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court on Monday, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
