A 35-year-old man is being questioned by police after suspected Class B controlled drugs were seized in south Belfast.

Police said the man was detained following a stop and search in the Lisburn Road area on Wednesday.

Officers recovered drugs with a potential street value of around £30,000.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police are committed to removing drugs from the community and dealing with those involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

"I would ask if anyone has any information about suspected drug dealing in their area to call the non-emergency number 101."
