Police have confirmed that 28-year-old Liam Mulligan has died following a one-vehicle crash near Fivemiletown in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The single vehicle collision on the A4 Belfast Road involving a silver Mercedes car was reported around 2.15am.

A police spokesperson said: "Liam sadly died at the scene due to his injuries. An investigation into the collision is underway and officers would appeal to anyone with any information which can assist with their enquiries, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 100 for April 4."

The Belfast Road has since reopened to traffic.

It follows the death of another man, aged in his 30s, on Sunday after a single vehicle crash in Fintona, Co Tyrone.

Police said the incident involving a Vauxhall Vivaro van took place around 3.10om on the Garvallagh Road area.

Last Thursday, 73-year-old Ita Cavanagh from Pomeroy in Co Tyrone also died in hospital after she was injured in a crash involving a lorry in Cookstown on February 9.
