FORMER Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson has distanced herself from reports that she is joining Dame Arlene Foster on a round-Britain tour to save the union.

It was reported at the weekend that Baroness Davidson planned to "hit the road" with the former first minister-turned-GB News presenter to "show people what the union means".

Dame Arlene announced details of her new group – the Together UK Foundation – in the Sunday Telegraph, saying it would be aimed at making "the positive, rational case" for maintaining the United Kingdom.

She said it would involve "mainstream pro-union voices from across the entire country to highlight the benefits that the union brings to us all".

The Sun newspaper had reported a source saying Baroness Davidson would "hit the road" with Dame Arlene to "show people what the Union means".

But the former Scottish Tory leader distanced herself from the reports, sharing a tweet from a Times reporter who quoted a source describing the claims as "utter b******s".

Baroness Davidson said the source who rubbished the weekend reports was "well informed".
